Card of the Day - Dec 20, 2011

The Emperor
Christmas Tarot

This week I will be drawing the Card of the Day from the Christmas Tarot by Corrine Kenner. Check out her website here. Today's card is the Emperor, the archetypal father and husband. This card shows a businessman in a suit. But at the moment, he has set all his worldly issues aside and is spending time with his dear children. He is demonstrating a spinning toy and through it, he is reliving his childhood. He is able to connect with his children on their level, instead of dictating orders to his staff. Christmas is a time when even the most stubborn Scrooges can melt, so why not the busy businessman? He has bought interesting gifts for his children including a drum and a bugle. He is disciplined and firm by nature but is also generous and kind. His leadership is an inspiration for the young children.

  1. I think that this card is wonderful and very reflective of this time of year. We are all in the mindset of giving and visiting and making and connecting with family. I think that this can also be a reminder to not only take the time to be with family and do the important things... but to keep everything into perspective. What is really driving us at christmas time?

    Thank you for this card...
