Card of the Day - March 31, 2012

Today's Card is the Queen of Wands from the Shadowscapes Tarot. She is a dynamic woman and is passionate, creative, fun and energetic. Today is a fun day, and the queen represents the soul of the Fire element. Today, is an energetic day- many things will happen, mostly fun. There will be communication and probably travel. It is a good day to meet friends for a party or go for a weekend trip. The queen enjoys playing her harp among the birds and animals. They are in awe of her, almost reminding me of Snow White and her effect on the birds and the bees of the forest. She loves the outdoors, so its a good day to spend outdoors in open spaces and be with nature. 

Card of the Day - March 29, 2012

Taking a break from the Toltec Wisdom deck, I decided to check out my Shadowscapes Tarot deck again for a few days before starting to explore my new Revelations Tarot cards in the month of April. So, today's card is very apt for yes, April Fool's Day and it is our very own 'The Fool' card. Only thing is that in this deck, we have a female fool, and she looks like no fool at all, but a beautiful mermaid-like woman ready to take on a new journey. Today, think about what chances did you take, and what you let go. What risks did you take which were worth it? And what were silly, hasty decisions? When should we be a Fool? At the stages of new beginnings, when our gut feeling tells us to 'go for it' we must always listen to our inner fool. In this card, a long with the pretty girl, the birds, bees and animals are all with her, urging her to take a leap of faith and follow her dreams. Today, you too do the same. Take a leap off your pedestral, and look at things from above, from where things look like fun. 

Card of the Day - March 9, 2012

Today, we have the message of the most romantic couple of the Tarot, The Lovers. Specially in this deck, the Shadowscapes Tarot, they seem to be in a blissful state like in a fairy tale. They are standing atop a mountain of flowers surrounded by love birds and doves with no care about the world. There is a small snake lurking about but they couldn't be bothered. With love, comes temptation, but if it is true love, then nothing can tempt you. They are like husband and wife, king and queen, prince and princess. Today, prioritize your love life and your better half. There are some things in life which are very special and priceless. Love is one of them. Spend the day to show them that you care and appreciate them.

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is the Wheel of Fortune. While the fortunes of your life keep on rolling and rolling, they are about to take another turn for the better. Long overdue money shall be received today, and unexpectedly things might turn in your favour because of lady luck. Today you can say, is a lucky day. So buy a lottery ticket or play a game of roulette. You may get lucky! Everything is connected in the circle of life, and there are no coincidences.

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is the 7 of Wands. Today you are very determined and stubborn.You finally know what you are supposed to do. You will be strong even though others around you will try to put you down. You might feel lonely while you make your own decisions and do your own thing. Do not worry. You have made the right decision and eventually others will see that and look up to you in the long run. There is a lot of competition in this dog eats dog world. You are a strong force and are like the vixen in the card protecting her babies from the badger. Do not underestimate yourself.

Card of the Day - March 1, 2012

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is the 9 of Swords. This card shows a man being haunted literally by ravens whirling above his head. The ravens are constant reminders that something is wrong. Sometimes we see birds cawing and flocking about usually when there is a time of crisis such as a tsunami or an earthquake. I remember seeing ths once when there was an earthquake. Birds have a sixth sense and they 'know' that something is wrong. Similarly in this card, you 'know' that something is wrong in your life, and something is missing. Try and find out what is that thing is you are missing in your life. You have wings, but are unable to fly. Try seeking the reason why you doubt yourself.

Card of the Day - Feb 29, 2012

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is the 9 of Pentacles. This is a wonderful card to come in a reading and signifies good times, luxury and happy times. Today, you will be relaxed, happy and in your element. You will do the things that you love and make you happy - could be shopping, taking a walk by yourself, playing music, singing or dancing. The card shows a maiden playing a piano in the middle of the forest. The music creates wonderful vibrations as it is from the heart. A tree grows from within the piano showing that even plants are moved and are affected by the healing vibrations of music, a theory proposed by Indian scientist J.C. Bose. Today you will move someone and can affect someone's life with a good deed.

Today's Card of the Day is the Hermit from the Shadowscapes Tarot. This card is all about a quest for knowledge and the truth. If you are the hermit, you possess his qualities of interest in spirituality, curiosity and depth. Today, you will contemplate the deeper meanings of life or be a guide to some body. You could give good advice to someone and could be a source of inspiration. You are at a stage in your life where you are able to have a unique point of view. You are a visionary and can see the future before everyone else. You know what path to follow, though you are like a silent observer. You will discover something meaningful about life today. I know what I discovered today, I saw The Artist in the theatre today, and the movie made me think about the most important things in life - art, creativity, music, magic and love.

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot deck is the Five of Wands. This card shows many foxes fighting over a rabbit who seems to have escaped or run away. The hare has run away from the foxes and it represents energy. Are you feeling very energetic today and are you feeling wild and free? You have challenges and obstacles in your life, but you have it in you to overcome them.You have unknown strengths that are drawn forth when you are faced with difficulties. So who do you feel like today? Do you feel like the fox who is charging ahead or are you like the rabbit who has narrowly escaped a tragedy? Either way, today is a day of contemplation. Who are you and what is your role? 

Card of the Day -Feb 23, 2012

Today's Card of the Day is the 10 of Swords. This is considered to be the worst card in the pack, but before we jump to conclusions, let us try to look at the positive side of the card. What I see is that in this deck, the Shadowscapes tarot, the card doesn't look as grim as in the Rider Waite deck. Usually the card shows a man being stabbed by 10 swords lying on the floor almost dead. This card shows a woman flying in the air tied to 10 swans. Her arms and feet are tied to a large cloth which is taking her somewhere, to the unknown. It seems that she has jumped from top of a tree.The birds have become vicious; they can tear her to pieces and tear her cloth as well. They are not out to help her, and fly their own way. Circumstances have caused this girl to have a spiraling plunge. When we give up hope, this is how we feel - like there is nothing good in our life. Sometimes we need to pick up the broken pieces when we come to a halt and learn from our mistakes. Look at the positive side of your life. Do not give up hope. Never ever.

Card of the Day - Feb 22, 2012

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot deck is the Knight of Swords. Today, it is likely that unexpected things may happen with you. There may be sudden plans and you may have to do make sudden decisions. Today will past by swiftly in the blink of an eye. Young ladies could meet an interesting man today. He will be like a brave hero who can defend his beliefs. He is blunt, honest and loyal. He is not emotional, but is fearless and usually victorious. In the card, the knight rides along with the birds and he is the King of the Birds. Together they are like a sear across the heavens. A storm is created wherever he goes, and he fights the chaos. He has all the qualities of the birds - the keen sight of the hawk, swiftness of the sparrow, insight of the raven, grace of a swan and the wisdom of an owl. Today, you could develop all these qualities within yourself.

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is a wonderful card to come by, its the Magician! This card represents that you have it in you to accomplish whatever you want. Do not worry about your talents or your abilities. You are super talented and great at what ever you do. The traditional RWS tarot deck shows the Magician having a cup, wand, sword and pentacle on his table showing that he has all the elements at his disposal. He is the Fool who has now opened his knapsack. In this card, the Magician has hanging on his wing some interesting tools such as a lantern representing fire, a black feather representing air, a shell for the water element and a branch of a tree which is the earth element. Between the palms of his hands, the Magician is conjuring up some sort of magic. He knows what hes doing and can multitask. He is barefoot showing that he is humble and grounded, and is open to learning new things. You have the gift, so use it wisely.

Today's Card of the Day is the Five of Cups from the Shadowscapes Tarot. The card shows a lady who seems a bit sad, holding a goldfish bowl in her hand. There are many fairies around her to console her. There are some other fishbowls which have toppled over behind her but she has one left, which she needs to look after. DO NOT LOSE HOPE. You have the needed support from your family and friends to get up once again and face the world. All is not lost. Move on as tomorrow is a new day. Make the most of the situation and cheer up. Hold on to whatever is left, and do not let go. 

Card of the Day - Feb 19, 2012

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is the Four of Wands. This is a relatively positive and energetic card compared to the Swords cards we have been getting since the past few days. After a time of introspection and thought, comes a time of success and results. You are finally able to translate whats in your mind, onto the plate. Your thoughts are getting formed in the physical world now and you are absolutely ready. This card has vibrant colours like yellow and orange representing happy and sunny days. This card shows four stags galloping gaily into the sun guided by spirits and fairies. They bring with them roses and other flowers of spring. In India here spring time has almost begun with the arrival of the festival of Mahashivratri, tomorrow and the official first day of spring i.e. Holi on March 8. Be prepared for joyful days and have a positive day today.

Card of the Day - Feb 18, 2012

Today's Card of the Day from the Shadowscapes Tarot is the Eight of Swords.This is the third consecutive day where we have a Swords card. Earlier, on Feb 16th we had the Five of Swords and on Feb 17th we had the Three of Swords. So being in a Swords state of mind means that we are looking at this practically, analytically and also intellectually these days. We are not able to remove time for our personal life and it is difficult to arrange for meetings and make it for social gatherings. Today's card particularly, the Eight of Swordsshows a beautiful white swan trapped among swords. She feels that she has no hope, and no place to go. Do not worry. Your worries are just, well, worries. In truth, things are not as bad as you think them to be. The task at hand is not that tough, and the road to success is not that difficult. You are being too critical and too hard on yourself. Look above you, at the humming bird. She is so tiny, but is so positive in her outlook. She feels free and happy even though she is smaller than you. Look at life like a game, not like a challenge which will burden you.

Card of the Day - Feb 16, 2012

I'm back from a wonderful Mauritian holiday! It was relaxing and so peaceful! Ahhh.. the birds and the trees and the white sands and the blue-green seas. They will be with me for a very long time... I hope you all had a great week and had a great Valentine's day!

 I will be continuing my daily Card of the day posts from today using my new Shadowscapes Tarot deck. I will be using these cards for the first time and its great to share the images with you. Today's card is the Two of Pentacles. Just like the RWS deck, the card shows a man juggling two pentacles. In this card there are small fairy like creatures assisting him in his juggling. He also has a monkey companion who has a butterfly on his nose. This card says to me, follow your heart. If you want to be busy and juggle your life, do it. You are a bit unconventional and can juggle two lives at once or even two careers. You can easily adapt and shift between the two. You are focused and know what you want. Continue on this path and follow your inner guidance.
