This card shows a person leaping up in joy along with nine cups floating in the air. Behind is a treasure chest filled with beautiful jewels, gold and precious items. This is a positive day for getting good returns. Today you will receive money, salary or wealth in some form. You will feel that you are on the right path in your career goals. You will leap forward towards the sun, and could have some outdoor fun. You will be worry-free from material troubles and have positive hopes and ambitions for the future. You seem to be close to your dreams being fulfilled.

Deck of the Month: Robin Wood Tarot 

One of the oldest decks I own, the Robin Wood Tarot deck is one of my most used decks. It’s colours are vibrant and imagery is crystal clear. It is similar to the Rider Waite Tarot, but it is so much easier to learn from this deck, specially for a beginner. It is colourful, friendly with identifiable characters. The Robin Wood Tarot, was created by Robin Wood in 2002. She recently passed away on April 19, 2021 so in her honour, I will be removing the daily card of the day pulls for the month of May from this popular and loved deck. 🔮 🌟 💎 🦋

Besides this wonderful deck, I also own a wonderful book which is available separately, The Robin Wood companion book. It is a detailed book with wonderful spreads, explanations of each card and many more pearls of tarot wisdom.

This card shows a woman in a boat heading towards the shore or calmer waters from a harsh and wavy ocean. She is being guided by the ravens which I feel stands for her intuition or helpful friends. Today’s card means you do not need to worry, as everything is taken care of by the universe. You will always be helped by good and kind souls and your spirit guides as well through intuitive feelings and thoughts. The ideas and thoughts you have are Divinely guided and will always be the right way to go.

We are always learning and are always students. Today, take up something to learn, like a new craft or hobby like dance, yoga or something creative. This hobby doesn’t have to be your profession, but it is a new skill set. Today you could spend time with some young child or teenager who could help you learn something new about technology or social media or a movie or a book which you had no clue about. We are always learning from each other, no matter if that person is young or old. Today spend time with your child or your inner child.

The time does pass by very fast today, just like the phases of the moon. The woman in the card looks occupied making some herbs or oils for healing purposes. Today, you will do something creative and create something beautiful and satisfying for your soul.

The card shows a couple in love with two children playing. If you are having troubles or disagreements, it’s time to live together happily, peacefully and keep the arguments aside.

This is a card of happiness and bonding among friends and family. In other decks, this card is more celebratory, but this deck the card looks more subtle. The three girls are happy with each other’s company. It’s like a special bond. It could be three friends, three family members or colleagues. Just being with each other, makes them happy and not-so-lonely. They look up at the stars in the pink sky. Today, enjoy the small pleasures of life with your near and dear ones. No need to rush today, you can stop and smell the flowers.

This card shows a young man running and being a hunter, hunting with the raven, and having a motorcycle as his vehicle. He likes to live life in the fast lane. He is a quick thinker, is focused and likes to speed in and out of situations. Today you could meet such a person who has an impact on your life. Or you could have these qualities enhanced today. The qualities of being quick, making fast decisions, impromptu plans and being quick witted will be the mood of the day. Even consider going for a jog or having a vigorous fitness routine today.

This card shows some men being competitive and fighting with sticks or wands with each other. Today it seems like you will be striving to look for things, solutions or answers. In the current situation, this looks like people who are looking for medicines or doctors and there is lack of them so there is a competition as to who will get it first. Everyone is working hard equally, so be assured that it is an equal fight. This card also shows competition at work, striving to prove your worth among your colleagues, and trying to stand out from the rest of the competition. You will have to try extra hard, to prove that you are the best.

Sometimes things don’t work out the way they are supposed to. At such moments, the best thing to do is to start over. This card shows a bolt of lightening destroying a tree, a home for many animals- butterflies, squirrels and rabbits. 

You may feel homeless or lost right now, but you can build up and start afresh. You will have basic essentials and support from your near and dear ones when you go through this difficult time.

This card shows a woman holding a string and it seems like she is holding a kite which is guiding her towards a bright star in the sky. Today is a day of positivity and wishes coming true. There is a ray of hope in your life and you can breathe a sigh of relief. The universe is listening to your prayers and your wishes and they all will be fulfilled at the right time if you have pure and good intentions. Do not lose hope. Hold on to that dream.

Hard work and creativity are what keeps us going. This card shows two children and a man weaving and creating a tapestry. They look like they are bonding over creating and are deeply involved in that project. Find a project which is very close to you, which stimulates your creativity and bonds you with your family. Doing things together is a wonderful way of getting things done. If you feel stuck, ask for help from those around you.

This Strength card is different from other decks. Here instead of a lady opening a lion’s mouth, we see the lady being half woman and half lion. She is the lion as well. It looks like a split personality. She also holds a lamb who represents qualities opposite of a lion, so she embodies both these qualities: of a lion and a lamb. It may appear she is weak, innocent and naive like a lamb, but she also can be fierce and angry like a lion. 

Today’s message is : Do not limit yourself or put labels. You are capable of anything you think of. You are strong, vulnerable and everything in between. Love yourself for this mixed bag that you are.

Today’s card is telling you to take a leap of faith. Take a risk and do what your heart tells you. You need not be bound by logical thinking or rules. You can set your own rules, and be adventurous. This woman is on the edge of a cliff holding a crystal, as that is all she needs. She just needs her awakened and spiritual self, not anyone else. If you feel alone, this is a reminder that you are more than enough to give yourself company. It is also a reminder to be stress-free and go with the flow.

Here the swords have been represented by ravens. The ravens are pulling strings on the blind folded girl in both directions. Today you could be torn in two directions and have to make a choice. You may be confused what action to take, but that is because you are blind folded and don’t have all the information you require. So take it slow today and do not make any impulsive and hasty decisions.

Wounded but not yet down. No matter how hard it is, no matter how hurt you are, this card shows that the best option is to hang in there for the bad times to pass by. The wands create a barrier or obstacle for the woman but the wand she holds has a light at the end. Always have hope. Never give up. Be patient. Sometimes you may feel lonely or that no one understands you, or you may be in quarantine. Use this time wisely to reflect upon what you can do to prepare for the future.

The card shows some girls dancing in happiness with musical instruments and it looks like they are celebrating a festival. It’s true indeed as today is Chettichand, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and the beginning of Navratri. Let the festivities begin at home! Happy New Year!

But you will get there. This card shows a hardworking man who has blinders and is completely focused on the tasks at hand. Today you will have this positive and focused energy to complete your work.

Karma is something we cannot escape from no matter what. In the end, everyone gets their just desserts. You cannot escape good fortune if you have been loving, giving and helpful. You cannot escape loneliness and guilt if you have been selfish and cruel. You may not see it now, but karma builds up over time. And yes, someone is watching you and your deeds. You are being judged all the time by the universe.

Today is a good day to be imaginative and creative. Spend time with young children who will make you feel child like yourself. Think of how you would spend your childhood, by playing in gardens or board games or family games. Sometimes being like a child is all you need! Take up a childhood hobby, write a poem or finish that incomplete painting.

The card shows a modern day woman spreading her hands out in happiness. She has finally achieved what she has wanted. She is in the spotlight and there’s a wreath and a glowing torch. She is the winner and victorious. 

This is such a positive card for today. Charge forward and fulfil your dreams. Communicate your ideas today and reach the finishing line as it is within your reach. You will reap the benefits of your hard work. Success is yours. 

Deck of the month: Lightseer’s Tarot

 

I just purchased this beautiful deck which is a blend of the ancient and the modern. Where there are old and ancient scriptures written on some of the cards, there are modern women in mini skirts and trendy heart hands with trending hair dos. 

The clothes these people wear are some thing which we would wear in this day and age. There are relatable characters, the knights not wearing armors as they do not in real life, we have a romantic knight of cups holding red roses and some of the other knights are women as well. Many traditionally male cards are female such as the Fool and the Magician. 

The backs are black and  have a teal design matching the beautiful and sturdy teal coloured box. The cards are fairly thick and the pile as a whole is quite chunky, almost double the size of a regular tarot deck, but it has the standard thickness of Hayhouse’s regular oracle and Angel card decks, so it feels similar. 

It has a serene and 21st century new age vibe to it, with a spiritual, pagan and shamanic feel to it. It could be a wonderful beginner’s deck as well with no scary cards. The Devil, Tower and Ten of Swords are surprisingly tame, with no original Rider Waite symbolism of devilish creatures or swords. The swords have been drawn as raven birds, given it is the element of air.
